From the Director:
Our show takes place between the years 1526 and Sir Thomas' death on the 6th of July 1535 CE. Which puts us very much into the Early Tudor fashion period when men wore squares and women wore triangles. Traditional costuming for our shows has been to keep things simple. Actors have been asked to provide their own costumes and when highly specialized pieces were needed the company provided them. This had the advantage that you could take you're costume home and use it for events. However, early Tudor isn't something most of us are going to have hanging in the closet. I know I don't have any. So, we are still going to ask that, if possible, you still provide you're own costumes. However... If you can't, and also for major pieces like Richard Rich, King Henry, and Cardinal Wolsey, we are going to provide the costumes. We are doing so through the generosity of our Costuming Designer and an arrangement he has made with a local school. Note - please make a best case effort to do you're own. Remember, that way you get to keep them. I'll turn this over to Martyn: |
